City Seeking Network Administrator for Broadband Project

The City of West Plains is accepting applications/resumes for a Network Administrator at City Hall, 1910 Holiday Lane West Plains Missouri or online at www.westplains.net.  The position is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining the City’s fiber optic internet solution for Dedicated and GPON customers. Designs and implements fiber network deployment strategies as well as configuration of key hardware components (switching, routing, and access equipment). Trouble shoot any issues that may arise in the City’s fiber optic internet deployment.  A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required for this position as well as extensive networking knowledge with an emphasis on fiber optic networks; however, degree may be substituted by significant prior experience in the field of network engineering. Prior knowledge of ISP deployments is a plus.  Willing to take additional classes or training that the City feels necessary to stay up to date on all systems and equipment within the City structure. This position will require on-call ability.  E.O.E.
