Assistant Sports Coordinator

The City of West Plains is now accepting applications/resumes for the position of Assistant Sports Coordinator for the West Plains Parks and Recreation Department. West Plains, Missouri is a growing community of more than 11,000 residents serving a multi-county regional trade area of more than 100,000 people located in South Central Missouri. The full-time position will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing sports and/or activities offered by the city as director see fit. maintain chemical requirements for the city pool, Manage the Pool, performs general maintenance on all parks & ball fields, operates equipment required for the upkeep of facilities and parks which includes but is not limited to tractors, mowers, field groomers, rollers, drags, etc.; performs manual labor . Applicants should have sports knowledge & be able to complete a complex schedule, be willing to work nights and weekends for ball games.  Salary range is $14.18 – $22.69 and commensurate with education and experience, with an excellent benefit package. Firefighter/Engineer

The City of West Plains is accepting applications/resumes at City Hall, 1910 Holiday Lane or online at www.westplains.net for a Firefighter/Engineer. Duties include: Driving and operating apparatus equipment, respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls and attend training on and off duty, controlling and extinguishing fires, protecting life and property, and maintaining building grounds and equipment. All Firefighters/Engineers must live inside the corporate limits unless exempted by the Fire Chief. Must have a High school diploma or GED and have Firefighter I and II (IFSAC) certification. Must be able to obtain Missouri CDL–Class B w/Airbrake endorsement within 30 days of date of hire. Will be required to pass a comprehensive written fire exam and physical ability test. Water Treatment Plant Assistant Chief Operator

The City of West Plains is accepting applications/resumes for a Water Treatment Plant Assistant Chief Operator at the Water Treatment Plant. Duties will include administrating, operating and monitoring the mechanical and analytical systems pertinent to water treatment and control and the central municipal facility. Will be responsible for all duties of the Chief Operator in their absence. Full job description available upon request. Must have a CDL driver’s license – Class B with air brake endorsement. Class B Missouri Water Operator’s Certificate and Missouri DNR approved water operator training. Qualifications are a High School diploma or GED or vocational school degree and five to seven years mechanical experience, including at least two years specializing in chemical treatment of water. Some college desirable. Knowledge of computers and ability to work with a variety of programs. Will be required to work weekends and holidays on a rotation basis. Salary dependent on experience.
