The West Plains Public Library is now accepting applications/resumes for the position of Library Custodian for the West Plains Public Library. The part-time position will be responsible for keeping the premises of the Library in a clean and orderly condition, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, taking trash out, cleaning restrooms and meeting rooms, and keeping the grounds clear of debris. The City West Plains is now accepting applications/resumes for the position of Electric Apprentice Lineman. The position will perform work in the construction, maintenance and repairing of electrical power lines and will also learn the current technics in installing fiber for telecommunications use on the apprentice level.  Will be required to be on call on a rotating schedule with a minimum respond time of 30 minutes.  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Will be required to obtain lineman status within 5 years given proper training and schooling thru Missouri Public Utility Alliance Apprentice Lineman Program.  General knowledge of approved methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in power line construction, maintenance and repair and general knowledge of the principles of electricity as applied to electric distribution systems. Ability and/or knowledge to operate Journeyman’s tools, lineman testing equipment, line truck.  Must have a current CDL – Class B w/airbrake endorsement or be able to obtain. The City of West Plains is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. The primary function of the Administrative Assistant is to handle routine and advanced duties for the City and Utility Departments.  Qualifications are a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training.  Must be able to make independent decisions daily, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks.  Must collaborate with other administrators and support personnel, management, and customers regularly.  Organization and prioritization are the core elements of the administrative assistant’s responsibilities.  The individual must know how to keep themselves and others organized and how to determine which tasks are the most important in a given list.  Must have strong communication and people skills.  Knowledge in working with computers and the ability to work with a variety of programs and other office equipment.
