West Plains Public Library to Reopen June 15 With Restrictions in Place

The West Plains Public Library will reopen to the public on Monday, June 15, after being closed for an extended period of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, restrictions will be in place to ensure staff and customers can follow the six-foot social distancing mandate from the CDC. The Library will continue with the pick-up-book return process it implemented in early May, which has proven popular with customers wanting quick and easy pick up of their library materials.

The restrictions in place include:

* Limited occupancy to 50 percent, with the Library establishing limits on the number of people allowed in each area of the building.

* Only one entrance/exit will be used, which will be on the Broadway Avenue side.

* Patrons will be asked to limit their time in the library to 30 minutes, to allow others a chance to visit the library.

* Face coverings will be encouraged for anyone visiting the library.

Library staff is asking for the public’s patience and cooperation to adhere to these restrictions as they work to safely open the building and meet the patron’s needs.
